Hiroshi Suzuki for Columbia Japan from 1975.
Hiroshi Suzuki-Trombone ; Hiromasa Suzuki-Keyboards ; Akira Ishikawa-Drums ; Takeru Muraoka-Sax ; Kunimitsu Inaba-Bass
More super rare J Jazz making a first appearance in blogland and this is an absolute beauty made up of 5 long cuts that hit the perfect balance between jazz and fusion.Acoustic bass meshed with subtle funky drums topped with lashings of Rhodes, trombone and sax deliver a really stretched out understated rolling groove.
The album just grows and grows with repeated listening and it's a big favourite over here at Bacoso's Big Top - no surprise that it's
ALL KILLER NO FILLER !

What a superb record. A real classic of mid-70s jazz-funk. I really am smitten. Thank you very much for alerting me to its existence. Now I'm going to have to track down a copy of my own!
WoS - good luck if you want a vinyl copy.I've been after one for ages with no joy at all and in the end had to buy the Jap cd reissue.A couple of dealers tell me the plastic goes for big bucks IF it ever turns up.Let me know if you bag one.
Wow, or should that be Meeow!,
did you see what i did there?
Many thanks as ever

Thank you very much for this CAT!
This was entirely new to me and very, very good. Are there any other records by H. Suzuki out there?
more killer thanks
I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to say thanks for this. Very laid-back funky groove here; kind of CTI-like, but without the inherent cheese. Great stuff!
It's an amazing record! I simply love it! What a pearl!
Thank you so much! Please, keep up such good work!
P.S.: if you could recommend anything of this sort, I'd love to be directed to it :)
many thanks bacoso!
love the j-jazz!
cant get enough m8!
Bloody hell, I'm totally digging the drummer on this album. Thanks, B!
bang bang bang bang bang bang
incredible
and that's word!
This is the third j-jazz album i've acquired and the 1st by hiroshi. I had such horrible preconceptions about j-jazz but they were shattered by takeshi inomata. I am wide open to this genre now. Thanks for the gift!
Any chance of a re-up on this one please? ZippyShare would be good! Thx a lot :)
