Very cool drop...
cheers Bacoso
Thank you.
Looks primo, thanks B.
This is just excellent from start to finish. Great sense of space and subtlety when when Ray's getting busy. Nice to hear fretless electric bass outside of the usual fusion context and around some acoustic instruments. Thanks Bacoso!
.... oh and I linked to it from Walter Bishop Jr's "Cubicle", which Mantilla played on the next year.
Thanks Bacoso. I didn't know he had a solo album.
oh dear ish, there's more where that came from ... ace drop mr B, ok if i post synergy??
Thanks. Great one.
Wow, I've heard Ray Mantilla as a percussionist on numerous recordings. Didn't know he had any albums as a leader. And with names like Jeremy Steig, Eddie Gomez, and Joe Chambers (one of my most favorite jazz drummers), you can't go wrong. You just can't. I'll have to check this out.
Ray mantilla did a very funny album with Slim Gaillard and Steve Allen. He had an abscess in his jaw and Slim made several comments about it. He also let fly about the clubs usual lack of facilities , dirty dressing rooms, no towels macrooneymo etc
looks cool.
thanks.
Broader than the proverbial Broadway...nice one thank you once again
