One of my first jazz lps,one of my first jazz concerts,an artist who saw me through from fusion to hard bop to the new thing and back again.
Totally gutted to see he died today-he will be sadly missed.Freddie has been a big part of my record collection for over 30 years.I shall be spinning "Blue Spirits","High Energy"and "The Love Connection" tonight.
What a bummer.

RIP, Brother Freddie! We will celebrate your awesome life by playing your music and we will talk about you and we will remember you and you will not be forgotten because you have made an indelible mark. We should all be so lucky. Cheers and thank you!
I'm listening to his solo on "Destiny's Children" and it is just a thing of beauty.
If you want it, I've uploaded a Ben Sidran interview with Freddie Hubbard. Conversation and music.
