FRANK HERNANDEZ Y SU ORQUESTRA - EL PAVO

Frank Hernandez for Souvenir Venezuela from 1965.
Another banging latin session this time from Venezuela and bursting with mambos and descargas fit to set the wax on fire.Nearest comparison would be Tito's 60s Tico sessions which is high praise indeed!

Great work - thanx a lot this is a goldmine to come across....

Seems I've got some Enoch Light sessions which is not about here, one would be big bold and brassy...

Strange interlude is one of the favourites.... uhh and the guy Piero Umiliani is involved in Italian Jazz as well, hmm just checked out the elctronic stuff by this guy, strange and tantalizing work. He is around with great tunes on the Angeli Bianchi angeli nero soundtrack and La ragazza dalla pelle di luna as well on so on and so on. I will be back....;-)

Great album, known the artwork for years as the London blues-punk-lounge band Gallon Drunk used it for their first singles collection.
