NELSON RIDDLE - CHANGING COLOURS

Nelson Riddle for MPS from 1972.
Three in a row for the most perfect sound today kicking off with the lush strings of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra featuring compositions by Claus Ogerman,Tom Jobim,George Harrison and more topped off with three beauties from Mr Riddle himself.
High brow pop/mor rather than jazz this will really appeal to the lounge lovers among you.Personally I can't get enough of "Lamento", "Sao Paulo","My Life" and "Changing Colours" although I have to draw the line at "Close to You" and "My Sweet Lord" !
Give it a listen and see what you think-goes down well with a cocktail on the beach in the sunshine.I'll have to make do with a pint of lager in a beer garden this afternoon !
Ripped from the now deleted MPS Silver collection cd @320

Hope you enjoyed your pint. Picked this up a few years back. Shame it's deleted. There was another LP of his that was released at the same time called Communication, which is also good.I particularly like the track Born Happy, which sounds like a Frank Sinatra number without Frank. Perhaps it is? Keep up the MPS posts. A lot of this label is still out of print. Universal in Germany have just released some nice George Duke, Francy Boland and Peter Herbolzheimer sets. Many of the Herbolzheimer stuff I first heard on your blog.

Always love seeing MPS stuff about. It would be a shame to see such a great catalogue forgotten by future listeners.

Thanks

This album is absolutely beautiful.

Just the kind of vibe I am always looking for but always seems to be just out of reach.. especially 'Romantic Places'.

I put Volcano's Daughter right up there with First Light by Percy Faith... and thats HIGH!!

Many thanks and great find!!
