From early R&B classics like Percy Mayfield’s “River’s Invitation” and Buddy Johnson’s “I Wonder Where Our Love Has Gone” to Turrentine’s “Little Sheri” and Jimmy Smith’s “Bayou,” this album is perfect from start to finish. Two bonus tracks from the session, Lou Donaldson’s “Gravy Train” and Jack McDuff’s “A Kettle of Fish,” have been added to the original LP.
